March 2004 Meeting

Go Back

The March meeting was bursting with information, demos, and beads.  Everyone was rapt!
Cristie Prince showed us all how to make wine stoppers and gave us sources for purchasing the necessary hardware.  (See the Links page)
Gerry White, owner of Beads by Design, was trained as a metalsmith and taught us about silver wire, silver clay, fine silver vs sterling, gold alloys, wire hardness, hardening wire, and more.  After the photo of Gerri there are some photos of pieces made from PMC silver clay by Gerri and her daughter Stephanie White who is also a bead maker.
Lewanda Hardy showed us all how to make rings from beads and wire and then we made them.   The first photo is of Lewanda diagramming the ring's construction.  This is followed by picture of the rings that we made.
LeWanda brought a mystery prize which was raffled off and won by Robert Simmons.
The drawing for the Green Challenge was done by a special guest with the assistance of Lillie Bavendam.  Bonnie Anderson was the lucky winner of the $25.00 Beads by Design Gift Certificate.
