April 2005 Meeting - Sylvie Lansdowne Demo

Go Back to Scrapbook Index

Two major events at the April Meeting - first the election of the new Board and second a demo by Sylvie Lansdowne of a Garden Angel. Look below to see photos of some of Sylvie's unique and whimisical world of fairies, angels, mermaids, big haired ladies and beaded jewelry.

Garden Angel that Sylvie made at the Wednesday Meeting

More of Sylvie's Garden Angels - Sylvie is famous for her use of color and decorative techniques - so evident in these photos.

MERMAIDS, MERMAIDS and MORE MERMAIDS with a close up of the center mermaid below.  Each one is totally unique and charming.  When the Web Mama purchased one it took her hours to choose because each has its own personality.

Sylvie makes these witty, captivating big haired ladies and includes them in her designs for beaded jewelry which are available for sale in kits that include instructions, all the beads, thread, and one of the amazing glass people.  If you are interested you can check out the SylvieBead Website.

The Halo necklace (see kits below) which Sylvie makes with these faces. The necklace is available in a variety of Sylvie's wonderful color combos.

The Halo Necklace Kit

A Bracelet kit is also available which Sylvie says that a beginner beader could make. The one shown here is in Autumn colors.

Sharon Ahmed is a Southern Flames member who is new to lampworking but a very experienced Beader who teaches Beading Techniques and Jewelry making at Georgia Tech.  Here she is shown wearing a Halo necklace she made using Sylvie's Halo Kit.  There is a closeup below.
