2005  - SEPTEMBER Andrew Jackson Pollack Demo - Page 1

At the September Meeting, we were lucky to have a demo presented by Andrew Jackson Pollack. Andy is a glass artist from New Orleans who was staying with his family in Sandy Springs because of Hurricane Katrina.  Andy has studied glass at Penland School of Arts and Crafts, Red Deer College and at the Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass.

Andy demonstrated how to make a goblet decorated with a crawfish and brought some of his other work including pendants to show. All but two the photos shown below were taken by Bonnie Anderson (Robert Simmons took the others) and we thought the photos were so detailed that we would just put them up without text and let them speak for themselves.  As you look, check out the audience standing behind - their expressions of interest, awe, anticipation are just wonderful - sort of like a Greek Chorus commending on the action going on in front of them!
