The main event for our January Meeting was a fabulous demo by Don Meadows but before we got to that our traveling co-presidents Andrew Lunde and Becky Sizemore were both back in town to lead our meeting and make announcements.

Don Meadows recommended the Glass Craft and Bead Expo to be held in Las Vegas in April - all types of glass artists (lampworkers, fusers, stained glass etc. )  teach at this meeting.  For detailed info check out their website www.glasscraftexpo.com

We celebrated two birthdays at  the January - Gerry White, ISGB Regional Director and owner of Beads by Design, and SF Co President Becky Sizemore.

One of the birthday girls - Gerry White with daughter Stephanie White.  Both are 28.  Note Stephanie's Bead of Courage shirt.  Robert Simmons who is the National Director for Bead Donations for BOC told us that the BOC program now encompasses 60 hospitals and 10,000 children so please remember to make beads - all kinds - for our BOC kids here in Atlanta and around the country.

Instead of a bead challenge this month, we had a door prize drawing.  Everyone at the meeting was eligible and the lucky winner of the $25 Beads by Design Gift certificate was Robin Snuttjer.

Thanks to Karen Barefield we have an updated list of all the materials in the SF Resource Center cabinet is now available on our website.  Click here to see it or use the Resource Center button on our Home Page..  Everything in the Resource Library can be borrowed for 1 month by an SF members.  The mailbox on top of the cabinet is used to leave messages or small items.

If you are interested in trying to use a bead press or want to test one before purchasing it - there are many in the cabinet.

Lots of books, tapes, DVD's of SF Demos and hand tools are available for loan.

This is Don Meadows.  To see photos of his beads and photos from his demo, go back to the Scrapbook Index and look at the January 2010 entries.
